Join the Nu Civilisation Orchestra and a star-studded line-up of phenomenal women at the Royal Festival Hall, London to celebrate International Women’s Day 2017 when we’ll be playing songs from the great Joni Mitchell’s modern day classic: HEJIRA.
Blending folk, jazz and pop influences, Hejira uses the Prophet Muhammad’s Hijra as a jumping-off point to tell stories of personal journeys, figuratively and literally. We’ve got some fantastic new arrangements from Cassie Kinoshi, Max de Lucia and musical director, Peter Edwards that provide the perfect foil for the unique vocal gifts of each of our special guests:
