We’re thrilled to have been invited to return to the Queen Elizabeth Hall at Southbank Centre to perform the headline concert for the grande finale of The Jazz Ticket on Sunday 29 April. Opening the show will be young musicians from six London schools, performing pieces by Ella Fitzgerald, Dizzy Gillespie, Buddy Rich, Mongo Santamaria, Thelonious Monk, and Tadd Dameron..
The NCO will perform a set of pieces by the six Giants of Jazz alongside Peter Edwards’ A Journey With The Giants Of Jazz, commissioned by Turner Sims and Tomorrow’s Warriors for the PRS New Music Biennial 2017. And we’re delighted to be joined by our special guest, the award-winning saxophonist, Soweto Kinch. Expect some saxophone fireworks on stage when NCO members Binker Golding and Nathaniel Facey, and Soweto lock horns!
